I was talking with my brother discussing one of our favorite topics, music. He said, and I’m paraphrasing, “I can’t listen to something that doesn’t have passion.”
Light Bulb Moment.
Another key of success is passion.
Passion, as defined by Webster-Merriam, is a strong liking or desire for or devotion to some activity, object, or concept.
There a scripture that comes to mind that gives the best analogy of the feeling of passion.
Jeremiah 20:9 (NIV) “…His word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.”
Why do I think passion is one of the keys of success? Because, passion beckons our attention. It calls out from within, waking us up – if we are listening.
I found when I have denied or try to silence my passions, I became resentful and/or withdrawal.
Due to my faith, I believe deeply my passions and desire come from my God. My passions are apart of my life’s work, my purpose. They will develop along with me as I grow in understanding and throughout my experiences.
In order to be successful, I think we have to acknowledge and work to satisfy our passions we find happiness, joy, and peace. Success is much more than money or fame.
So now, I want to hear from you. what is your passion? What desires are burning inside of you? Tell me in the comments below.
Amanda
